he's still got the funkie y pipe causeing back pressure problems, as to pulling the cats and pipes don't do it the 72 deg fireing order makes for a funkie ricer soound you will not like.
i have a flow master 50 on mine right now and it's comeing offto darn loud and it shacks the inside to much.
I ran a straight pipe on my 2000 v10 for about 2 months. It ran great, but on a 800mile trip towing 15000lbs (every weekend) it would get annoying. The cat had more of an effect on the sound than my muffler did. When i had the cat and muffler on it was louder in the cab but when i took the cat off it was real quiet inside but louder outside. It was almost like when i took the cat off it took away some of the lower frequences that would cause resonence in the cab.
In other words, if you have no sensors after the cat i would take it off, unless your state does emmissions testing.
I tried eveything on my 01. First no cat with muffler. Then completly striaght piped. I was just to loud. It was obnoxious. I then put my cat back on and took off the muffler. I think it sounds really good now. But if you like it way loud straight pipe it. Your O-2 sensor is in your exhuast manifold so there won't be any mechanical problems. I'm warning you though, it'll sound like big foot.
