Post floor bright switch mod?

Hey all. I just came about this thought. Would it be possible to install a floor bright on/off switch to work instead of/in addition to the multi function selector on the left of thestering column?

95 F-150 XLT

Has anybody ever tried this or done it?

Thanks,

Matt

I'm sure its possible...
My '88 has a floor switch standard, so there is probably a wiring diagram out there for the switch. All it should take is removing the cam switch in the steering column and rerouting the wiring down to the floor.

ALL it SHOULD take... man I don't like those words lol.

I replaced a floor switch in my dad's '86, but it wasdesigned that the switch was on the floor. Anybody have a clue as to HOW to "simply" remove the cam switch and re-route it?

Again thanks

Matt

There are four wires associated with the high beam select stalk (including fash to pass).

Red/Yellow is the headlight power feed, and is switched to the red/black wire for low beams, and the lt Grn/Blk wire for high beams.

For flash-to-pass, where high and low beams can be on at the same time, it's the same as above except the lt-grn/black wire is connected to the Dk Blue/Orange wire on the same connector.

A wiring diagram would help that make more sense. Since you're going to lose flash to pass by removing the wires off the stalk, you only need a SPDT pushbutton floorswitch that connect the Red/Yel wire between the Red/Blk and Lt Grn/Blk wire.

Using an SPDT relay might make more sense.

what if I make it so that "flash to pass" was the main brights (so that low and high beams are on when high beams are on) since I don't have fog lights.

Just a thought. A wiring diagram would definately help here as well as information on how to get into the guts enough to get the wires out.

Thanks

Don't run the high and low beams on at the same time. It will fry the stock wiring and possibly even burn up the bulbs.
