2006 Build-out Dates!

These are certainly subject to change, as I just got them today, but should give you a good idea how long you have to place an order. This has been a big deal for the Super-Duty customers, as they're not willing to take a chance on the "all-new" 2007 with it's "all-new" 6.4 diesel.

Ranger: March 24th
Escape/ Escape Hybrid/ Freestar/ Five-Hundred/ Freestyle: March 31st
Super-Duty/ Focus/ Mustang: April 7th

That's all I've received so far; just gonna have to wait on F-150, Explorer, Fusion and Expedition.

Jeff,

Does this mean we have until 4/7 to order a 2006 Super Duty or is that the last day Ford will build them?

Thanks,
Eric

That's the last day to place the order; last day of production is May 13th.

PLEASE- keep in mind that these dates can change, and I would offer this advice: if you wait till the last day to place your order, there's an excellent chance you'll never see your truck. Based on what's happened in previous years, they start cutting out certain options and color combinations as you near the cut-off date. By March 15th, they may no longer be offering special trim packages (King Ranch, just as an example), and colors that won't be carried over into '07 will end early. Not to mention that Ford may have miscalculated exactly how many orders they may receive: if they get a LOT more than anticipated, then production will stop even earlier. And I don't ever recall a year when Ford extended its order time beyond their original estimate.

Aqha!

Jeff: Thanks for the info. I subscribed last night to the AQHA via their online subscription service so I will be eligible for their rebate in sixty days.

Additionally, I dropped by my local dealership yesterday afternoon to see a SD with the wedgewood blue exterior/tan leather interior. Love the combination.

Will be in touch soon!

Michael

Question 2007 V-10 F350

Good Morning Jeff,
Has there been any info released on the difference between the 2006 and 2007 V-10 Super Duty? I was a 1997 Expedition guinea pig, and don't want to go that route again. If they are not changing much on the non-diesel trucks, I suppose it would be okay. If they have not released any 2007 info yet, has Ford said when they will? Thank you for your help!

The last '06 rolls off the line on Saturday, May 13th, then the '07s start the following Monday. Hard for me to believe they can re-set an assembly line for an all-new truck on a Sunday, so I'm thinking the '08 will be the all-new Super-Duty. BUT- that doesn't mean they may not start using the new 6.4 twin-turbo in the '07s. You should check out the threads in the Super-Duty forum- lots of talk on this there.

Hmmm... no major changes suspected for the '07's? This might get interesting! When do you think we'd be able to order an '07 and how would we know what has/has not changed when ordering?

BlueOval5.0, jake00-

No official order dates for the '07 yet, but like I said, first ones come off the line May 15th, and the last day to order an '06 is April 7th. So we should be able to order the '07 sometime around the middle to end of April.

Jeff,

You are speculating that no material changes will be made based upon the dates provided to you by Ford. Does this mean the body style will remain mostly the same? Any guess on powertrains? Will '08 models be the redesigned ones?
