That sucks! I knew the GT was gonna get axed, but the LS is an awesome car. As for the Adrenaline, I was never really sold on it, the Lightning will always be a cooler-looking performance truck anyways. If you think about it, FOMOCO just cancelled three high performance/powerfull V8 autos. Kinda makes you wonder where this company's headed.
The Lightning in that video is owned by one of our HALO members, Oscar Flores. At the time of this race, his truck had a 6# lower pulley, CAI, Superchips tune, FactoryTech valve body, Bassani off-road mid pipes and catback, Lakewood 21715 slapper bars, and a pair of slicks. It ran consistant 12.50s with this setup.
Funny thing though.......
This race took place at Houston Raceway Park a couple of years ago. Oscar was just out doing some test & tune and was called out by the SRT owner and his buddies while in the staging lanes. They were talking a whole lotta smack, too. The Dodge Boys did not request a re-match after the race was over.

Thanks to a manual gearbox, SRT-10 is fast with a good driver. A powerful, unloaded pickup with a manual gearbox is quite difficult to launch.
Magazines tend to have very good drivers who get lots of practice runs.
I would venture to say that most folks who drive manual-trans cars don't know the best launch technique for the car. That really only comes with track experience, and the majority of folks don't go to the track.
Ford is trying to kill the svt program, but with that being said, fords not stupid. They can't aford to shy away from performance, and still compete in todays market, so lets just wait and see what ole Bill has up his sleeve!
