Question 429 casting number help

I have a 429 block that i am having a hard time identifying, the numbers cast into the side of the side of the block are DIVE-A2B. Where most 429 blocks have 460 cast in to them this one has a 101 cast into it. it has 2 bolt mains. can anyone tell me what it is or anything about it. It also has a forty thousandths larger bore than any other 429 and it has stock pistons and has never been rebuilt.
Thank you
Bill

It's just a standard 1971 casting block. If it's .040 over then it had to be rebuilt.

it has not been rebuilt
the pistons say 429 on them but they mike .040 oversize from most stock. it had stock bearings that still had the date mark on them from the factory. it is also bored .040 over factory specs the pistons are factory according to the casting #s on them but they mike .040 oversize
any idea why

How about the obvious, the engine has been overbored .040" and the appropriate pistons were installed at that time. The 429 doesn't mean they are stock diameter.

Maybe one could but .040 pistons from Ford but it didn't come from the factory that way.

Never said the factory did it. But it is pretty obvious that the engine has been bored, unless there is a measurement problem.

actually you can buy factory overbore pistons, so it could have been rebuilt by a dealership or Ford Authorized Rebuilder using factory parts, which they are required to do.
or it could have infact been an engine that was sold by the factory as a replacement warrenty engine using a core block that was returned on another warrenty deal. or apon inspection of the block originally they found something wrong with one or more bores that required overboring right from the factory as a new engine ( I have seen this done on more than one factory installed untouched engine although I have also seen the factory put one .030 bore piston and leave the rest standard which is pretty stupid in my book) But no matter which one of the options it's still considered rebuilt, and my guess would be a warrenty job personally. And on top of that RTM is right it's a 71 passenger car engine, nothing special but not a thing wrong with it either.

if it was rebuilt by the factory you would think that they would have replaced the engine bearings because they were factory and manufactured 01/71 according to the date on the back of them. the only possible way that it could be a factory rebuild is if it were siezed up, returned under warranty, bored out and rebuilt the same year. that is possible i guess but fleet parts said that according to their books Ford never manufactured pistons or rings of that diameter
