I have a year 2000 Excursion limited 4x4 with a v10. I have a 6" rancho suspension lift and 36" x 14.5" tires. I also have a magnaflow exhaust. Im looking into future upgrades for more power. The upgrades im looking at are a gear change but do not have any idea what size to go with. I think that would help due to haveing such large tires. I am also wondering about headers and a high flow cat converter or just getting rid of it if i can? Also are the superchips power programmers or the aem intake worth the money for the power increases? With the transmission has anyone installed a transgo shift kit? I would like to do that too but am wondering if its worth the money? Also keep in mind this is a daily driven truck so i can go too jurrastic with mods... Thanks! -Dan

What gears does it have now? I would highly recommend 4.88s or 5.13s with the 36s or if 37s will ever be in your future. I run 37s with the 4.30s, and its barely adequate for highway driving.
I use a Superchips 1715 when I tow, but leave it on stock the rest of the time. I mainly like the idea of being able to firm up my shifts when I tow. The Superchips programmer doesn't allow for speedo adjustment for the larger tires though. You can buy a Superlift Tru-speed or just take it to the dealer to have it reprogrammed.
I dont know what gears i have in it now, just whatever it has stock.
Well, it could have 3.73s or 4.30s stock. You can check the VIN tag on the body panel on the driver's side door post. It will give you an axle code. Post that code and we can tell you what gears it has.
