I have an 87 Bronco xlt 302 with 150,000 miles, I am looking to rebuild and clean up my engine to restore horsepower and performance. It anyone has any ideas or books that have step to step procedures please let me know. Im looking for small modifications that is not too expensive
Have you read anything here? There is plenty of quality, easy to understand information on this site, but you will need to make some use of the search function......give it a try!
Just reread your post though.....on one hand your saying you want to rebuild your 302 to get back some HP and performance,.....and on the other hand you say you want to do some "small modifications" that dont cost too much......well you will need to make up your mind.....do you want/need to rebuild, or do you just want to buy some bolt on HP.....or do you just want to make your Bronco a more reliable and fuel efficient daily driver????
The 351W would be alot better than the 302. The 302 is a car engine and you can feel it. If your set on keeping the 302 then new intake, carb, cam and lifter, and headers would give you some power. If you want more and want to get into it more then you can bore out the cylinders and put new pistons to increase compression ratio, ect...
If you want more technical info go to the engine forums(they really know their stuff in there).
