head gaskets which type

i'm rebuilding a 302 (1979) and was wondering if anyone has used the gasket set that parts 500 have for sale on ebay motors , if you have used these are they good quality or should i spend the extra and go fel-pro . or do you have another type you recommend . thanks

I've always had good luck with Fel-pro, both in racing engines and street engines. I rarely use anything else.

That's not to say that there aren't other good gaskets out there. Everybody has their preferences.

I would, however, stay away from nameless off-brands. There's a reason why they're so cheap. Cheap materials, cheap labor to manufacture them...you get the idea. I'm not familiar with the gasket set in question, but why take the chance just to save a few bucks? You might end up replacing them sooner than you expect. JMHO...

I wouldn't skimp, especially on head gaskets. Fel-Pro = Fool-Proof...

gaskets are sooo cheap (bout $20) a set for fel-pro. I dont think u should buy that particular item from ebay. auto part stores have what u need for cheap. Just my opinion.
