Just happened one morning - right outta the blue. Chugging at idle, throttle, etc. & bucks when I try to speed up. Replaced wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter - little better but still there. Spark plugs tonite.
Autozone pulled a code 52 - "EGR valve not controlling". So I pulled the EGR, cleaned it and sucked on the vacuum line to confirm that the valve opens, holds vacuum & closes. Was this a stupid test? I don;t have a vaccuum gage. What about the EVR sensor on top of the EGR?
Could I have jumped a tooth on the timing gear? blow a head gasket on startup or cooldown overnite? transmission? 195K miles.
