Talking Open Headers?

I have a 79' 4x4 inline 6 and im gonna use it primarily for offroading. I know long tube headers will increase flow and add more torque because thats what the trails call for. I was wondering if anybody has tried headers with turndowns directly on the end of them. Would the honda sound be gone? It would flow great but would it not create ENOUGH back pressure?

Thanks for all replies

Depends on if the truck will go faster than 2850 feet per second, as with open headers, you may have to run that fast.

Put a flowmaster on it with some large pipe. You will never notice the power difference.

it'll just sound like a mean tractor, not a honda, I run a 3 1/2 pipe on mine from the cab back and it kinda has a cummins sound but still a pi**ed of farmall 560(which is a 6cyl gas tractor)
