hey i have a '74 f250 that i would like to put some aftermarket guages in. does anyone know of anyone that sells the guage sets that can be mounted on our window pillar, i'm a sucker for those. Any help from someone that maybe has done this would be greatly appreciated.
yea i looked myself and couldnt find a set, so i kind of figured that no one was making them. appreciate it i might try to make a set of my own probably not cause i wasn't looking to get that involved on these
Nobody makes them. I'd started on fabbing my own but then ditched that project in favor of a custom dash. However, I think a really good looking and easy way to go is to use the Autometer guage pods and tweak the base a little bit so that they can be mounted on the pillar. They sell them in black and chrome. Personally I think 3 chrome pods would look killer mounted to the pillar. The only thing I don't like about pillar mounted guages is that they can tend to be intrusive for your visibility making for a bigger blind spot.
Just got a single pillar pod from JCwhitney. It is a generic and you have to trim it and mold it with a hair dryer or heat gun. Not done yet but based on the trial fit is it going to look pretty good. I believe they also sell a double mount.
Thanks for the universal idea, I'm not to good at fabing up my own stuff too much yet, i'm still alittle hesitant. But i ordered two of those, another for my 69 merc cougar, when i get them i'll put them in and see how i like them, or if i can get used to a bigger blindspot or not. thanks again
