overheating

I have a 92 f250 4x4 7.3 idi. Recently it has been running warm, just past the half way mark on the oem guage and while going up hill the guage reads 3/4. My thoughts were, could the fan clutch have gone bad and if so how do you check it. What about the belt tensioner, how do you know when the spring is weak ( my surpentine belt is very easy to push down to move the tensioner up and down). The engine appears to warm up normally it just runs warm after 10 min of driving. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Te fan clutch should be pretty tight. If you spin the fan by hand (engine off of course), it should stop almost immediately.

You should not be able to compress the tensioner at all by hand....or at least not very easily.
