What kind of other rides do you guys have? With gasoline exspensive and my FE powered trucks thirsty, I'm trying to fix up an escort diesel that has a really rusty body but gets almost 50 mpg.If I can get it doing okay it will be a cheap ride to work and back when there is no snow. How about the rest of you? DF
Got a 79 F100 pick up (mostly wood now, though) with 356K and still (barely though)running and road legal; an 81 F250 plow truck (strictly a yard truck for plowing our 1.5 mile road-seriuos frame rust and only 105K); an 85-86 F250 4x4 (recently 302 EFI dog and now a 300-6 carb) with back-up plow that was a full time job to keep on the road and is now a daily driver (good-bye EFI); an 87 Bronco daily driver (with new 351-long story);....and the best vehicle I've ever had or known next to my old F100.....an 89 Olds Cutlass Cierra (245K) v6. Sorry...but it has been far more dependable than any Ford (and I've had plenty)I've owned in the past 19 years. I'd still prefer a Ford truck (never owned anything else)...but a car...N0 Another Ford truck? I used to be brand loyal and (unless its a pre-'80 I'd have to think long and hard. Bottom line is....They All Suck When They Don't Run.
Very truly yours,
Skippy

I still miss the "roar" of the old beast! But, a small part still lives on-on the '79-the emblem with a "V" and an 8 inside it is now on my hood-get a lot of looks from those in the know!
If that's true then you would love to see our 1979 F-700 Fire Truck. It blows everyone's mind to see the 429-4V emblem right under the F-700 emblem on the fenders.
