My 304 MPRP 4" turbo-back showed up today and I have to say that the installation was a piece of cake. These guys have done a very nice job of putting these systems together. All of the welded hangers were right where they belonged and removing the factory exhaust was a royal PITA compared to hanging the new MBRP system.
I just took it out for a quick spin and intensionally hit a few dips pretty hard to make sure nothing was going to hit the frame. Hit the highway on the chips 75hp setting and punched it. I had no problem hitting 1250* with the BTM and alway had to back off the throttle before I reached 55. Now, I couldn't get it over 1200* before reaching 70mph. I never thought it would make that much difference.
All in all, I'm very happy with this system. I'll be heading out tomorrow for a quick trip, 300 miles up the road to give it a little more of a workout. Thanks to DPP for the great price and super quick service getting it to me.
It's a lot deeper sound than what I noticed with the BTM but I have the muffler turned the recommended direction to have more sound at the pipe rather than in the cab. I have not driven it by any block walls or fences to get any sound reflection yet so I can't comment too much but it's not noisy in the cab at all. First impressions would be the difference between a bb gun and a 30-06.
Is it possabile that you can a recording of it,as i am interested in it.Just would like to know what it sounds like frist.
Yea, I think I might try and stick a mic on the notebook and run it down the road on different chip settings. That would probably be pretty interesting but it will have to wait until next week. I'll have to make up a longer microphone cable that will reach the cab.
remember to re-torque all the clamps again after that 300-mile trip. they expand/contract and get really loose. start at the turbo and work your way back....

Thanks for the reminder strokin_it. I'll bring my big wrenches and tighten them up when I get there and again when I get back.
no. most use a sawzall to remove the stock system quickly, and the MBRP is bolt on. (clamp). some prefer to weld it, but i like to be able to remove pieces of the exhaust.

Remember the sound clips you here and what you get are two different things. Unless you stick your head in the tailpipe. I'm not complaining mine sounds great but just wasn't what I was expecting compared to all the sound bytes I heard before I bought it. I would still highly recomend it, for the price and time it takes to install it you can't beat it.
