This morning on my way to work, after starting the truck:
A. Power windows didn't work (none of the three switches on either door worked). Power locks DID work.
B. Radio didn't come on.
C. Climate control (blower) wouldn't work.
Hadn't noticed right away, but once I did I pulled over to check my headlights to make sure I could get back home after work (I hadn't turned them on until I went to check them). They did work, so I got back on the HWY then remembered to turn them off a mile or so down the road. As soon as I turned them off I heard a little pop come from somewhere around the interior fuse block and everything came on. Maybe coincidence...
Oh yeah, I tried playing with the key to make sure it wasn't the ignition sticking. I also stopped and restarted it. The odometer did work but couldn't tell if the dashlights were working (too bright out).
My guess is a sticking relay, but since it "fixed" itself it's going to be hard to trace down. Anbody had this or have a good guess so I don't have blindly throw parts at it? Thanks
Hey, I'm new here, I had maybe a similar problem, in that the radio didn't come on, the fan blower stayed on even with the key removed. The power locks worked but I didn't check to see if the windows worked. Basically the problem was a water leak eventually making its way to the fuse panel and GEM model below that. It appears that in this forum that is a common problem. My source of the leak was supposidly the sunroof, but I question that. Anyway the problem is fixed now, obviously at a cost. Had to get it done at the dealer.
I've had a situation one day when my radio would not come on in my 2000 F-150. This has happened about three months ago and hasn't happened since. My step mother's Taurus has also had the radio not coming on when started.
