Hey guys, Ive got a sister living in Manhattan, KS. that is leaving for about a week starting on January 27. She lives "in town" and is looking for a reliable person to preferably stay at her house and watch her Lhasa Apso dog. He is a great dog and she is determined to find a "dog lover" that would care for him while she is gone. The pay is negotiable so if interested post here or PM me for details. Thanks in advance, Jeff S.
hmmm i might be interested. im a dog lover and i could really use some extra cash. what exactly does the job entail
Matt
Matt, when I have hired dogsitters in the past the person has stayed at my house while I was gone and basically kept my dogs company. They keep the food and water bowls full and if they feel up to it they can walk the dog. She has an older dog that probably would be appreciative of the company after school/work and the evenings. Other than that, if you have a dog yourself, you can probably imagine how you'd like your pet cared for in your absence. I think it's pretty easy work if a person likes dogs. I've always preferred the person to sleep at my house simply because I think the dogs get more attention if the person is "living" there verses stopping in for a few minutes every day. If you're interested, I'll give you her phone number. She lives on 17th Street.
jskufan, if the deal with Matt doesn't work out we have a young woman that takes care of our elderly dog when we are out of town. I trust her enough that she has a key to the house. She probably wouldn't stay over night, but does come out 3-4 times a day and also spends time with the dog. She has done this for us for several years. If your interested PM me the phone number and I'll have her give your sister a call. Like Matt, I'm in Manhattan.

Del, thanks for the reply. I can appreciate your comment on trust because giving someone the keys to your home and trusting them with your beloved pet is a very important decision that involves a certain comfort level with the individual. Here in Lenexa, I have two people I have used before and I'm very happy with both of them. I know my sister is very concerned about leaving the dog because she has always had family or her husband in the past to stay with him. In addition, they don't travel much and some of their trips they have actually brought him if they are driving. Anyway, if Matt is interested, I will give him her number and the two can talk. Otherwise, I would love to have the number of your person. Thanks again, Jeff Stevens.
well with school id prolly just stop by a couple of times a day, go with the other person and if that doesnt work out let me know
Matt
Hey Matt, my description of the "ideal" dogsitter may, or may not, be attainable. Sometimes we have to take what we can get. I know she would like the person to be around in the evenings as much as possible because that's when the dog is used to having company. I'll see her this weekend and get her thoughts. Again, thanks for your replies and I'll let you know how it works out.
