I would like to put bed rails on my new '05 SCrew, but the guy at the truck accessory store tells me it's really difficult on a SCrew. He says they don't have stake pockets and the rails would only be about 2 feet long! I know I've seen them on SCrews, and I thought they looked good. A couple questions:
1) Do SCrews have stake pockets? I know the plastic cap on the rail doesn't have holes, but can you take them off and get at stake pockets?
2) How do they attach if there are no stake pockets? Do they screw on? I really hate to put screws in my new SCrew, but I may if they are hidden well.
3) Will you post pictures if you have bed rails on your SuperCrew? I would really love to see them on a DSG truck as that is the color of mine. I think they would really look good with the chrome step bars.
There should be stake pockets under the caps. We put bed rails on the Lincoln Mark at the factory, and they sure as hell are not going to let us line jockey's screw something on to a truck without the holes already there. The Mark is a screw so it has the same bed as the 150 Screw. Good luck.
No stake pockets in the flareside body, and none on the 5.5-foot box of the SuperCrew. I have yet to see a screw with the 6.5-foot box, but I see no reason why that would not have the pockets, as all the other 6.5-foot boxes have them. It wouldn't make sense for Ford to make a special box just for the screw without them.
