LAST EDITED ON 26-Oct-01 AT 10:22 AM (EST)[p]Okay I've been here and the tranny/transfer area. I'm loosing fluid, but can't find an obvious leak. I recently changed timing gears and chain, points, condensor, 1st plug (dropped one), rotor button, distributor cap, and the starter (less than $50 in parts). I also had to jerry rig the plunger on my carb so it didn't leak anymore gas. When I did this I discovered that the bar (passing gear?) from the carb to the tranny was disconnected down below, no bracket to hold it in place, any ideas what I can do there?
It acts like it doesn't want to go into gear but then it will catch, not hard, but you can feel it. I've seen several posts saying that the tranny is getting ready to go. If I put fluid in it it acts better but not quiet right. I can't afford to replace it right now but I need to sell it. I'm preturbed about it but when you need the money you need the money.
