Yup, did the old search-aroo but lots of dead links and missing pictures, etc.
Got the wires, W/Light Bl (12v) & Light Bl/Y all hooked up and such but no go on the high idle.
Tried it with the e-brake on/off, door open/closed, radio on, lights, wipers and even with a beer/2 beers, but STILL no high idle.
Anyone know what the secret combination is to get the thing working?
Currently: OAT 45 degrees, semi-warm engine (plugged in), sober, frustration factor moderate.

Using a Bosch relay as in dan.prxy.org's setup, no debounce diode.
Just tried the same thing today. I also was disappointed to find a low idle. All the wiring is exactly where he says it was, the coloring is exact and I verified 12v on the wire near the test port.
Same as you KF, exact colors and 12v and such.
Perhaps it has to be below a certain OAT to work, dunno'.
There's probably something pretty simple that we have overlooked.
I'm going to re-install it today.
Ah.....I vaguely remember that variation of the high idle mod. If memory serves, it doesn't work on most of the 99-03 trucks. Something about not having the neccessary PTO functions, or the PTO wiring isn't all the same......sorry I can't remember more.

You are right, I tried the same thing, but it only works on the 6.0, the 7.3 you have to use the AUX PCM control module.
Bummer, I love that loud hissing at the tail pipe, wouldn't have it with that...
That's the ebpv causing that, yes?
I have the W/B wire hanging there with the sticker on it talking about the bodybuilder's manual, wonder what it's for then, other than providing keyed 12v?

The aux PCM is the a square box with a readout for RPM, VOLTAGE, and a few other things, there was an insert in with my diesel manual about it. Though the potentiometer that you referenced would certainly do the same thing.

The ACPM is the one you buy from Ford. It's big and clunky and takes up a lot of room....and it's $300.
The one I use (in the link you posted) will not alter the function of the exhaust backpressure valve, nor will it have any effect on the factory high idle function. What it allows you to do is idle up independantly of those functions.
Okay, so I am going to build one using this setup
Only difference, I am going to use a DPDT relay, double pole double throw, this way I only have to wire one relay. Any rate, I like the idea of completing the circuit through the park brake switch. Anyone know if there is a Park switch in the column, that way it would render the elevated idle useless, when not in park? Don't want to have a runaway PSD if ya know what I mean.
