I was thinking about running some 33x12.50x17 Parnelli Jones Dirt Grip tires on my 03 F350 SRW with a front leveling kit. Would like some feedback from anyone who has these tires. Wondering how they handle different conditions, how they wear, and if they are noisy. Thanks to anyone willing to help.
DO NOT!!! I went through 8 tires trying to get a good set and they were all not round. They could not be balanced and road horrible. My dealer had me try 2 different sets and they were all bad. We put them on the balancer and you could watch the tire go up and down, they were so out of round. And no my rims are not bent. I was trying a set of 37/12.50/17 for my Chevy HD and ended up going with Baja claw radials. Hope this hepls!
I am running them and have no complaints. They seem to be riding fine. I recently bought the truck with them already on. However, I plan on replacing (when they are worn) with Mickey T's ATZ. I want an A/T instead. I'm not much of an off-roader.
They are noisey, but I expected as much. They seem to wear quickly. The wear seems equal, but I assume the previous owner was rotating regularly.
Try the Nitto terra grapplers A/T's. There a great ride, quiet, and great traction all around. Snow, sand, dirt, mud and payment! The wear seem good too! I've got 8500 miles and still look new! They look geat too!
I have 38x15x16.5 Dirt Grips on my 01 F350, E load rated with about 30,000 miles on them. They ride well, wear well, and handle well -- I should get another 5000-10,000 miles out of them. They worked very well in the snow, until the tread siping wore off about 10k miles ago, now they are not so great in snow/ice. They are noisy, but not loud compared to Swamper SX. I pull a 10k trailer lots in the summer with no problems.
I think I like the Terra Grapplers, but they do not make a 38 or 40. The MT ATZ looks lame, the MT MTZ 38" is only C load rated and their 40" is far too pricey for what it is. So I will probably buy more Dirt Grips to replace these.
