Throttle cable mounting

Hi out there. I have a F100 with a 351C that I built into it, just one little hassle I don't know what the bracket/mounting looks like where you fit the throttle cable just before the carb. Is there any fordnatic out there that could perhaps email my a pic of said bracket? Thanks Danie Claassens South Africa

There is no cable. There is a linkage. The throttle pedal has a rod which rotates from the firewall penetration up to the top of the motor. The top of the rod has a hole in it which a secondary rod pivots in. this secondary rod is threaded and can be shortened or lengthen to fit which ever carb you have. The carb must have a ford throttle ball. The secondary pivot rod has a socket on the end of it and this socket snaps onto the throttle ball. A separate piece of linkage on the carb will attach to the kickdown linkage for the transmission kickdown lever. It's that simple, unless yours is missing. Then it's not that simple.

Yup it's not that simple. It seems all the F100's and F250's manufactured here (South Africa) had a throttle cable and not the American type linkage.
What now. I would appreciate any suggestions.

I recently was involved in helping a friend swap a 6 out his truck and replacing w/ a V8. The six had a much different cable linkage than was right for a V8. He had a Carter AFB carburtor. We purchased a little aftermarket bracket that bolted to the studs that the carb is bolted down on. It was made by Russell. My 79 F150 that has a 302 in it has a cable between the throttle pedal shaft at the firewall. It just pulls backward against the two throttle return springs. There is no bracketry, it just is a straight piece of wire w/ a swivel "pop-on elbow" type connector on the carb and a simple piece which I don't know the technical name of, but it's just a little block of something that sits in the throttle pedal flapper shaft (another technical term eh?) Perhaps you could persuade someone here in the states that's parting out their truck to send you their pedal and straight rod linkage if you'd rather have the solid rod type.

What year truck are we talking about here? My '66 F250 I6 has a cable whereas the '67 and up models had a linkage. I could never figure that one. Perhaps the overseas trucks are similar to the older series in this regard. A picture would help.

Happy Hallo'ween

Exactly what year is that engine and truck ?
Cable throttles have a bracket that bolts to the intake, this bracket has a square hole in it for the cable end to Snap into .

I'll see what i can do from this end as I have a bunch of brackets that I just sorted out in the garage.

Thank you for all the responses. The truck is a 1974 model which looks exactly like the American F100 only it's right hand drive and is basic ie no p/w steering, no a/c, just your bare to the bones truck. The engine I'm not sure about I never checked the casting number.
