early warning signs
I just witnessed another classic case of someone ignoring early warning signs on their vehicle. my buddy's dakota sport with auto tranny at 43,000 miles started to shift rather roughly. i warned him to take it in ASAP to get the problem looked at. he ignored the advice, and at 44k miles his transmission is completely shot. what could have been a $200 problem will now cost him $2875. this is why on my Rangers i pay close attention to their performance. if i notice a problem i find out what it is immediately and resolve it. i don't wait around for it to become a much larger problem. unfortunetely, too many people these days think ignoring a problem will make it go away. also glad i bought a ranger. i'm not anti-dodge, but from the people i know it seems that ford trucks are more dependable than dodge. seems like fords have less tranny and engine problems.

i've got four buds that went and bought the dodge ram 4x4 with the hemi, their all brothers and narrow minded! another guy and i are ford guys so there is always some fun going back and fourth about what is better. i've heard bad things about their trannys and rear-ends. i'll take my chances with a ford anytime of the week!
