Gas smell while driving
I have a 2000 F150 2WD 4.2 V6 and within the last 2 weeks I've noticed a gas smell that enters the cab (i drive with the windows down) upon acceleration and more so after slowing down from say 60-70 to a light or stop sign and then accelerating again abruptly. The truck has 105,000 miles on it and the plugs/wires were changed at 103,000. I just cleaned the air filter (K&N), i have a fuel filter in the garage which im going to change this weekend.
Could this be a bad pressure regulator on the fuel line? or possibly 1 of the 4 oxygen sensors if not all.
The exhaust doesnt smell like its running rich while it idles.
