I believe I have a 359-60-61 FT engine. I'm hooking up a new mechanical water temp guage. I would like to leave the factory guage in place and working. So, is there a second plug on these engines that I can use to put the water temp sensing bulb for my new meter??
I have a thermastat housing on my 390 that has threaded plug in it that when removed is the right size for a temp sender. I put my mechanical sender into the intake manifold and then hooked up my electric sender to the thermastat housing. And then I found out that a local auto parts store has that same thermastat houseing for sale as a replacement part. I believe the FE and FT engines have interchangable thermastat houseings.
I will check that out when I get home from work. My engine has the dual thermostat housing so there should be plenty of room for something like that. Thanks for the tip. I'll let you know if I find something.

Whoops!! Should have read you reply more carefully. Apparently your sensor fit the opening, mine won't. And I think that it is too big to fit in the intake manifold opening, so I will have to do more shopping around.
