does anyone know where i can get a 6" lift reasonable besides skyjacker, i know rough counrty sells a 4" for $430 does anyone know of anywhere who has themn cheaper?
Lift kits are expensive. The only other lift I could recommend is even more expensive but it's extremely stable.
It's all expensive once you lift it. But the good thing about the Rough Country lift is that it comes with shocks which sometimes the others don't. The bad thing is you better have a good shop if you're installing it yourself. I had to re-drill a lot of my holes and some things didn't match up like they should've. But remember you'll have to buy extended brake lines and new driveshafts over about 3" of lift. That means more $$.
I recommend saving up longer and buying the Skyjacker because it's higher quality and better designed.
Believe ot or not I got my 4 inch Rough Country lift off ebay and the whole lift and steering stabilizer cost me $370. I would check there for what you want...you may get lucky and find what you want!
difference between single and dual cardan driveshaft.
a single cardan d-shaft is more like your composite cv shaft.
just with u-joints on both sides . eliminate your binding and angle problems
doesn't work axle or tranny like the stock shaft.
I would extend the brake lines that way you don't risk popping one loose from wheel travel. An added benefit to the extended brake lines is that they're braided steel so the brake lines don't swell from heat and extended pressure applied to them like the stock rubber lines do. For only $110 I believe is what they cost, you would have better brake response and not have to worry about ever getting new one's unless you go with like a 9" suspension lift, I think they're good up to 6".
If it's the CV style drive shaft I would get the U-joint style one. It's worth the investment and piece of mind. If you get the 3 inch lift, you'll probably wish you would have got the 4 inch one instead. JMO
If money is an issue, I'd go with a 3" body lift. Some people don't like them but they will give you some height. I'm running a 3" body lift and 2" suspension one of my BII's and the other ha a 4" suspension and 3" body lift and I am happy with the body lifts on both BII's. But with any lift you choose there will be some hidden costs.
And don't forget you'll want bigger tires after the lift!
