87 351

I found a good deal on a 351 87 model. I want to put it in a 74 f series truck 4x4. the deal is its fuel injected ,I want to run carburater now and ad the efi later what transmission can I use?

strange, the 5.8 wasnt injected till 88 or 89. are you sure?

you are correct its an 89

thanks for the reply, now for the trans wich is best for the 4x4

If your 74 is a highboy (F-250) then any 2wd tranny will work. In any case, a C6 would be cheapest and easiest.

89 351 compared to later model 351

ok whats different from 89 351 to later models? also I have a f100.

Unless the 351 wasn't from a truck - which we'd assume but he never specified. I wonder if there were any other Ford vehicles with 351s and EFI back then...?
