Why not just unplug the EBPV if you are running that fooler adapter?
I agree 100%. I'm not sure if using that code eliminator with a functioning EBPV won't cause problems or damage something. I wouldn't want to take the chance for something that does so little, i.e. warms up the engine a little faster.

Ok guys, here's the deal. I may unplug the EBPV. Right now I'm just trying some things out. This truck is not my daily driver, so if something doesn't work, I've got the time to park it unitl I can get it straightened out. I can't do it over the summer though, because that's when I do most of my traveling with the diesel.
My plan is this. Try the Exhaust Backpressure Sensor Code Eliminator first. Note that this is not a fooler for the Exhaust Back Pressure Valve. Now, since it is a cold time of the year, the EBPV should close to help warm the truck up, and if it does function normally, it'll help the truck to warm up, & I should be able to tell. If, however, I notice that the EBPV does not open as boost increases, my EGT's will shoot up and I'll know that too.
At this point, I can do one of a few things. I can just remove the Exhaust Backpressure Sensor Code Eliminator. I'm out $30.00, but have learned a lesson. And a lesson that I can and will share with all of you.
Next, I could unplug the EBPV to see if it really helps the truck warm up. If it doesn't benefit the warming up of the truck, then I leave the EBPV unplugged, and I can get a code eliminator to take care of that code too.
But, I'm throwing a code as it is, so if my Exhaust Backpressure Sensor is not working as of right now, it's not causing any problems that I can tell.
I don't intend to damage the truck. I'm just working out some bugs right now. I'm very methodical when it comes to trying new parts. I don't just slap it in there and call it good, then wonder why something breaks later. As soon as new parts are in, I immediately begin to look and listen for changes, all the while keeping an eye on the vital stats of the truck.
