my 2001 4W70 has a plug, the 2002- 2006 do not as RAcer said. I like to change the filter to get any trapped crud out. ANYONE that has pulled a pan will tell you there is crud in the bottom and stuck to the magnet and on the filter. The filter is not real course, it looks more like felt and can easily plugup with fine particles. i pulled the converter plug and got 8 quarts of decent oil, not dirty , not burnt. if its burnt that another story, but what you really need is a filter and to clean sediment out of the pan. flush dont do that.
jbabbler the round rubber plug on the bottom of the bellhousing is where the drain plug would be if it had one but your truck is too new for there to be one.
If it had one, you'd have to remove the plate at the bottom of the bell housing to get to it
Not quite true. I drained the TC on my Expedition by removing the rubber plug and turning the engine with a wrench until I lined up the drain plug on the TC.

Thanks racerguy. I was hoping that seeing the rubber plug meant I had one. It sure in convenient to change the fluid with.
