I was on The Detroit News web site and they had some stuff about new cars. The had one about 2007 cars that I clicked on and there were some photos of new 2007 models. One was the Ford Sport Trac Adrenalin SVT. they had about 8-10 photos from different angles. One was of the inside of the cargo bed and what do you know, there was a tool storage box in the floor of the bed right behind the tailgate. So, looks like one of the American car makers is taking a hint from that Honda Ridgline and offering a built in tool box. Hopefully it's available on all Sport Trac models.
From a preliminary brochure on the 2007 Sport-Trac, recently mailed to dealers:
"3 NEW GEAR BINS: Standard on every Sport-Trac, these rugged enclosures feature weather-resistant lids and removable drain plugs. So they're perfect for stowing wet gear or even keeping things on ice."
From what I've read, the Sport Trac's version of the in bed compartment is that two of them will only hold about a 6 pack and the 3rd is even smaller. Doesn't seem very useful to me.
