79 Ford F250
Hi. I'm new here as well as to the whole ford truck thing. I have recently acquired a 1979 Ford F250 4X2 with a 8-cyl 460 engine. Does anyone know what the HP and TQ readings are for this particular engine size? I would aprreciate any respnses in-spite of how stupid this question might sound to some of the Ford Truck gurus out there.

i was told that my engine stock was rated at 235 hp and 415 tq at the flywheel. i have done some stuff to hopefully bring those fingueres up a substancial amount, but i am not sure if ur 79 will have lower numbers than mine or not. if this were a perfect world i would guess like between 275-300 hp, and like 450 tq if i am lucky, anyone else think this is a reasonable guess?

MSD 6A and Blaster 2 coil, hedman headers,
dual flowmaster 40 series, K&N,
gotta wait till spring break for a new cam, that is gonna be sweet. atleast i can say i only have 90500 original miles and no rust anywhere on the truck with stock paint. i love fords.
