Ok guys here it goes. I've had an oil for quite some tome now. But now it has gotten really bad. I'm sure it was the pedistal o-rings on the turbo. Well i just finished tearing it apart (not that bad actually!) and now it looks like it was the actuater arm for the ebv that was leaking all along. Anyone come across this before? I have pulled it all apart and i counted how many turns were holding the end on the actuator arm for re-assembly. I can't wait to see how much a new arm is! I am going to replace th pedistal o-rings anyways because i know they will leak if i don't. Anybody have an idea of what any of these parts will cost! Thanks for any help and i hope everyone has great 2006!! Lancer
Lancer - sounds pretty much like the leak I'm dealing with. So you have yours pulled apart now? Where the EBPV actuator rod goes in to the pedestal - is there like a press in seal there or something that you can replace, in the pedestal? Or is that all part OF the actuator arm?
The rod has a rubber seal that works almost like a piston. It must shrink after time allowing oil to bypass. Its easy to take apart. There is a snapring you pull out and an aluminum cover that pops out the back. The dealer is closed today but i am going first thing in the morning to see how much a new one is. I'll keep you posted on how i make out. Good luck with yours!! Oh ya i think you have to buy the whole arm!!
Well it was as i expected. My price for that little rod (the guy at the dealer gives me the jobber price) was $215.00! But my ebv has not worked in along time anyways. So i'm going to plug the hole. I'm gonna do it in a way so if i want to replace it down the road i can. So now you know what you might be looking at. Lancer!!

You can get a new, complete non-EBPV pedestal for that price with core trade in.
Well i did some brainstormin and i got her ready to go. I taped the shaft of the rod down about another inch or so. Then put a nut a washer and a seal. I put the plunger back through the hole than a seal a washer and a locknut. Ther is no way it should leak now!! Now i have to do something with ebv valve. I'll probably put a couple of tacks on it with my welder to keep it open. Let me know how you make out catman and i'll help you as much as i can!!
