I have a 2002 f-450 will the instructions and shims used be the same for that model of truck? What kind of benefits should you get from this mod?
thanks for any info

Welcome to FTE 1bigtoy. Yes it will work for your truck, they are all the same from '99 - 03.
I can't find it on that site either.
Is there a noticable difference in performance when this mod is done?
I couldn't tell a difference when I installed it. At the time I had no power mods. I had around 55 psi fuel pressure at idle and I wanted to boost it to 65. The closest I could get was 69 so I left it there.
I went and looked at the site, they still offer it for sale. It's under the 7.3 section of the "fuel" catagory. About halfway down the page for $39.95.
Be aware it you increase it too much the o rings will go out on the water seperator drain valve...he he he lol.
I was more worried about the o-rings on the injectors when I made the decition to limit the pressure, but you make a great point there. They are just as vulnerable to over-pressure as well. Not to mention the plastic fuel filter cap.
I'm with pbr man. What's the benefit of increasing the fuel pressure with stock injectors? And would you see more benefit with some mods?
My truck's got several mods on it already (see signature), but I'm still seeing a little black smoke out of the exhaust, which tells me that I'm already getting enough fuel, as it's not burning it all now. Would there be a need to increase fuel pressure if I'm not burning everything that goes into it now?
Would an HPX line help with that too? How does increasing the fuel pressure with shims work in conjunction with a tuner or chip?
HPX= High Pressure Crossover. The HPOP's output, high-ressure oil, is regulated. The sensor is connected to only one head's "rail". Installing the HPX provides a connection for both high-pressure oil rails to work together. The end result is better high-pressure oil regulation, allowing the optimum for both rails to be equal pressure no matter individual demands. Typically, you'll notice a smoother idle.

Do a search on "cackle" or "injector knock". There's an AMAZING amount of information.
