The best advise i can give you is just to take it to a good mechanic. you will spend more time and money chasing down what you think is the problem. you will buy parts that you dont need and hope they will fix it. this has been my experince in the past. for me it is the most long term profitable thing you can do in a situation like this. now ther might be a few others like kwik or cookie that would have some more insight as to what the problem will be.

I moved the thread to the general diesel forum.
You might give these guys a call. They've been working on Powerstrokes, cummins, motorhomes, etc for a while now.

Hey g-man there is 2 lines from the injector pump, return and primary. Primary line is coming from the fuel filter housing then from there the lift pump. Lift pump is a electrical fuel pump, I'm not going to go to details. But if you loosen the primary fuel line banjo bolt at the injector pump and turn the key on the lift pump should come on for so many seconds. When you first turn the key on it should turn your lift pump on, if not bump the engine then it should turn it on. Fuel should be squirting out bad. Just don't think the lift pump is working even if you hear the pump running. I've had pumps making noise and no pressure at all thats why you have to check. Make sure fuel filter is new or has a free flow. Reason why I'm telling you to loosen the primary line first is that it's easier to get to. The older engine models do have a mechanical primer pump but yours should be electric. The fuel system goes fuel tank, to lift pump, fuel filter to injector pump. If no fuel is coming out the line then check the fuel line coming into the fuel filter from the fuel tank. Fuel coming out at the input side of filter, filter clogged. If you get no fuel...... lift pump is bad.
