Since no one has answered this, one thing I can think of is try a different forum like the Superduty forum?

However, I do have one thing to say:

The DRL's are controlled by a module somewhere, that in previous years, you could swap out if you WANTED DRL's. Like get a Canadian module, and you'd get DRL's.

I'd think you could get a module for the US model (without DRL's - I've seen some WITH DRL's), and be done with it.

Careful of insurance fraud, they say DRL's are "safer" so you might want to make sure your insurance doesn't include a DRL discount.

Daytime Running Lights.

One of the stupidest things I've ever seen. Now, I never see emergency vehicles right away because I've gotten used to cars with their lights on during the day ...

Yeah, and us motorcyclists don't like them either. Think about that one when you consider what you said about not seeing emergency vehicles as easily.

Hmm... very good point!

I also ride, so I had already thought of that one and forgot it ...

There used to be a relay behind/near the driver's side headlight that you could remove to disable or install to enable DRLs. It's probably controlled by the computer these days though.

Relay, module, something...

In my '96 t-bird/'97 cougar, it's the GEM module I think... Gotta find my service CD for the SD, it's got wiring diagrams.

Hey Cap, what are you talking about "our age" ??? I only just turned 40 - cut that out

I've had CRS since I was a teenager. Runs in the family.
