I'am in the process of doing an off body restoration, on my 94 ranger splash 4x4 ext cab.
I'am lifting it 6" ( skyjacker ) and putting 33" super swamper TSL , and a 302 efi a C6 tranny and this is where the questions come in....
When i bought my C6/BW 13-56 i thought it was going to fit....." WRONG "
It will only fit if i clock the T/C 1/4 turn on the bolt holes.
So it does fit..... well sort of, it does i can make it fit but i'am not getting the desired look that i want. It fits but when i'am looking under the frame rail it is sticking out way too much ( i dont like it ), i measured the 13-56 and it is roughly 23" accross...... i would like to put a t/case of about 19"-20 " then it would be all tucked up in the frame ( looking stock ).
#1 Has anyone done this sort of swap ?
#2 What would any of you experienced ford guy's suggest?
#3 What are my t/c options ---- what bolts to a c6?

From what I can tell, you want to put a later model 302 with E#lectronic Fuel injection in your Ranger. You apparently located a small block C6 that you want to use for a transmission.
Answers to your questions:
1 - Yes, 302's have been installed in Rangers but most commonly with either and AOD automatic or with a manual transmission of some sort.
2 - Not sure what to suggest as I'm not real sure what you want to accomplish.
3 - As far as transfer case options go, I'd look at a tranny/transfer case combo from an F150 that had 4WD and a small block. Sell the small block C6 to finance this. Some Hot rod guys like the C6 because it's darn near bullet proof but it apparently takes an extra 20-30HP to run it. The small block version is tough to find so if that's what you have, someone will want it.
what is t/c i would look at b&mracing.com to find better tq options.

I 'am installing a 302 efi out of a 88 mustang, i found a c6 tranny with a Borg warner 13-56 transfer case , for real cheap.
This is what i am installing into the ranger ( 94 ) the 302 is not the problem to install the problem is the transfer case wont fit in the frame rails, it is too wide roughly 23" across, i only have room for a transfer case that would be roughly 20" across. I 'am not sure what types of transfer cases fit onto a c6 transmission. I can make the transfer case fit by clocking it or turning it about a 1/4 turn and making an adapter ( which i can ) but ! it makes the transfer case stick out below the frame rail, a bit too much for my taste.
I guess i'am looking for any suggestions on what transfer cases i could use that would be smaller that the borg warner 13-56 of 23" end to end. i mentioned that i had room for about a 20" transfer case, but i am not real knowlegable on transfer cases spline count and what would fit on a c6 and what wont.
Also i was woundering if any one here has done a similer swap or could point me in the right direction for the desired look i'am trying to get , which is looking as stock as possable, and not having stuff looking out of place or slpped together.
