stupid hose
Back again after a couple of weeks eating, drinking, and more eating.
Back to my 90 2.9 Ranger. I've changed all but the lower radiator hose in preparation of starting her up after a very long hibernation. That dang lower hose to radiator connection has me seeing stars. I can't fit my hand down in there to get at it. Lost a few square inches of skin just by trying. Looking underneath, there's a cross member under the radiator with two bolts on either side that may help by removing it. How have the other members removed this hose without a trip to the emergency room? Oh yeah, I'm old and feeble so be kind.
Thanks

The lower hose was actually loose on the radiator clamp side and popped out without much effort. The hose is actually in pretty decent shape but the problem now is getting a hose back on. The upper hose wasn't too much of a challenge but the lower hose to radiator connection is a real pain to get to. Please consider the very limited room for my good sized hand to work in (I'm a fairly big guy @ 6-4 300lbs) I just might have to hire a contortionist with long arms and puny hands
Seriously, thanks for the tip. Anyone else who has struggled with the lower hose care to chime in? Did you go in from the top or the bottom of the radiator?
