I wonder what reserve is...you generally get 1/2 the price the car/truck would be worth if it were just assembled, instead of being in pieces. Could be a hell of a deal.

That is a relly sweet looking truck. I wish I could afford to bid on it. It is beautiful!

The interior just blows me away, the inner door panels aren't even messed up. That truck looks like if it were put back together and cleaned up it would look darn good. Wish I could afford to bid on it myself, but I would have to find another place to live. I get enough grief on the money I'm putting into my 51.

I could almost justify buying that as a parts chaser for my Panel and Coupe projects.

I bought the coupe, its a basket case
I bought the panel as a parts chaser for the coupe cause it needed less work
If I bought the 47 as a parts chase for the other two, it just would need assembled and the motor freshened up.

It` thinking like that causes me more trouble than I can handle on a good day! But I still do it after all these years.

The engine is an 8BA so it is not original, I prefer the 8BA style myself.

Main problem with the 42-47 is the ugly nose! I have a 43 that will stay sitting until I can find a 40-41 nose.

How can you tell if it's an earlier or later flathead from the pics? I only know to look at the block/bellhousing area. I know there's something different about the dstributor, is that what you're looking at?

If in fact you have a '43, I'd suggest you rethink it...you could easily sell it (due to rarity) and come out with a strong start in a '40 or '41.

upper radiator hoses are in the front and not the center of the heads. however, I thought that's what distinguished it from 49 and later to 48 and earlier. I could be wrong.

Oh, I might add, the way I always looked at the FH V8 blocks was whether the front portion of the bellhousing was casted into the block (earlier...like pre-48) or whether the block was flush in the rear like a modern engine..i/e post '47.
