Mice are definitely a tricky problem. It's hard to believe that on a paved driveway and only sitting for a few days at a time, you'd have that much trouble with them.
I've had them in my boat (every year), under the hood of my Dodge Avenger (after I quit driving it for a couple of months because it's a raging POS), and one time, went to change the air filter on my parents' garaged 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and found a whole bunch of dog food in the bottom of the airbox... but no other evidence of them, which I thought was weird.
Thanks for all the replies. The last one I caught was on friday or saturday. I bought more traps and placed them under the hood of the expedition and my wifes 05 Honda. I saw that their was mouse droppings on her battery and some partially nibbled seeds there also. I set traps under her hood too yesterday. I didn't catch any last night and just checked both vehicle at 7pm. I hope there are no more. Her car sits sometimes for a weekend but usually no longer. I hope this dosen't turn into a costly or smelly problem.

Reason: spelling
Had my 94 F250 out in the woods on a boyscout campout. We were in the woods for a week with the truck sitting.
When we got back to the truck, the engine didn't start, some kid left the light on, groan. So had to pull up the hood and check what was wrong.
The other lady scout leader was watching while I tinkered. Suddenly she screamed out so loud I thought BigFoot was behind me. She kept screaming and pointing. It took me and the boys maybe a minute to spot the culprits. There were two mice running back and forth thru the stiffening sheetmetal that is on the underside of the hood. There are little portholes in the sheetmetal I guess for just this purpose, the mice kept peeking out of the portholes. Every time the mice popped their beady little eyes out thru the portholes, she screamed louder. Jeez. It was a noisy weekend, that lady also screamed pretty good when Banana Slugs crawled into her shoes.
I also have regular problems with Mice living mostly in the air cleaner and sometimes on top of the manifold of my various cars. It is one of the pains of living in the country. However, now I live in the city so maybe things will change.
My buddy had a family of baby mice living in his Blazer when he bought it. The truck sat for a couple years, so that was most likely the cause, but it sure wigged him out. He tore the whole interior out of the thing, pressure washed the carpet, removed the seat covers and floor underlay, threw them in the wash, and went around with a case of brake cleaner to make sure there wasn't anything else in there.
my dad had some rats in the exaust on his boat and we started it up and looked into the engine compartment and flames were shooting out so we put the fire out and my dad used a screw driver to undo the hose to clean it out. then drop the driver down into the compartment then was stupid and splashed some water on the block to cool it down so he could get the driver then """"CRACK!!!"""" went the block. ya long story short any open hole is a good home for a mouse!!
