EGR problem
I am working on a '00 Mazda B2500, 2.5 5 speed with about 65K miles on it. The SES light was on. I pulled the codes and got 2 codes. One was a P0401, the other a P0402. These are both EGR related codes. One is for excessive flow of the EGR, the other is a restricted flow for the EGR. How does one acheive restricted and excessive flow at the same time?
I did pull the EGR, and the tube and checked to make sure they weren't clogged up. I know Ford's are notorious for this. Both looked good, and the EGR did not appear to be sticking.
What should I check?
I'd be thinking a bad DPFE sensor first, then possibly a bad EVR.
