Prefitted/flared brake lines?

I have to replace the rusted-through brake lines on my 1980 Bronco, one of which has burst.

I see in some catalogs prefitted brake line kits in stainless steel, which seem really expensive ($210) compared to steel line kits which must be cut and flared.

Can I go to my NAPA or auto zone and purchase prefitted steel line kits?

any tips or sites that you men can direct me to woudl be appreciated because this is the first time I have attempted such a repair.

Thanks in advance, guys.

I would look first at Jeffs Bronco Graveyard....or LMC Truck. I guess you can also give Rock Auto a shot.

I guess you could also just buy a bender and a flaring tool and make then up if you had to.

I have done flare work on copper tubing for plumbing purposes, but I see that a 'double flare" has to be done on the lines. How tough is that to do and get a good seal?

you can always buy a preflared line the right length or multiple lines coupled together if you can't get one long enough. Flaring line is hard the first or second time but gets easier with practice. Practice on scraps and remember you don't have to really crush the sh#t out of the flare when your forming it. Always use brake fluid as a lubricant for the die and flare. AND this may seem stupid but don't forget to put the nuts on the line first before you flare the line, and make sure the nuts are on the right side of a bend in the line. Don't ask

I recently replaced almost all of the steel brake lines on my '95, it really wasn't that hard. Originally I planned to make them myself but because I have 4-wheel ABS I had a mixture of double flare and bubble flare connections so I ended up getting pre-flared lengths as Chilako mentions. It was just easier. Anyway, it's not that hard, you can buy various lengths and mix/match/bend/roll as needed to get the right length. Not really all that hard, mine would've been pretty easy if not for the ABS.
