First i have a 1991 ranger xlt super cab 4.0 v6-----
I have been slowly getting where i have to push the clutch to the floor to get the clutch relay to let me start, but today i pushed and pushed and no start, i put it into neutral and used the screw driver to start from the solenod.
Give me some options do i replace the thing on the clutch pedal?--And is it hard? or what else could be the problem or solution. The clutch resevor is full and it seems as if my clutch has always been real low to the floor 4" or so, i don't know my shop manual doen't talk about the bypass on the pedal or anything else for trouble shhoting the starting of the truck. Heads up we are under a flash flood and i had to drive through it last night for hours but nothing more than i do 4 wheeling.....
I'd say just bypass the relay. I'm not sure how to do it, but some guys on here have done it before and can explain how, it's pretty easy. Then you can also start the truck in neutral without pressing the clutch if you so desire.
I have a plug going into a plastic sleeve on my clutch--which i hope is the clutch switch---two pink wires two green wires and a black and a grey w/red strip now which are the two to cross over????????
I WAS TOLD CROSS THE RED AND BLUE WIRES HUH!!!!!!!!!!!!
