Since this week I all the sudden have a skeeking sound, which starts at about 30 mph. Between 30 and 35 mph I can also feel a quite heavy vibration, which will disappear until about 50 mph.
It only occurs when I accelerate... as soon as I let off the gas, the skeeking and vibration is gone...
I have not a clue what it could be... it seems like the vibration comes from the rear, but the squeeking from the front????
Check the lug nuts. I experienced a similar situation once, and it was 4 lug nuts on my left rear wheel coming loose. At first I checked the lug nuts just by hand, and found nothing wrong, but when I did the same routine again with a torque wrench, I found 4 loose on the left rear wheel. I had just recently replaced the OEM wheels with nice 22" chrome wheels, so I belive that was the time the lug nuts was torqued incorrectly (No one to blame, did it all by my self). I thightened them correctly, took the truck for a test drive, and the noise and vibration was gone.
Could be that one of your front hub assemblies is going bad. It will squeal until the bearings start to disintegrate, then you'll hear a loud clicking and grinding noise. One of mine went this summer.
Are stock ones greaseable? How many grease zerks are on an X? I have an 03 V10 and have never looked into that end of maintenance. I am sure it needs it.
