I live in a rural area and I would say 9 out of 10 places have at least one old truck or car 'round back'. I have a couple myself.
There's a farm I drive past everyday that has at least 20 vehicles plus old farm equipment sitting on a hill behind the barn. There are several old ('70 and up) Ford trucks back there. Somehow though, I never find the time to stop and ask about them.
It's just as well I don't. I have enough work just keeping my own stuff running!
Ohh, good lord. I live out in farm country. Almost every place has at least one 'ruster' laying around. Seems the only people doing any serious searching are the 'demo-freaks'.
Yes, omg i live in the country aswell. People driver cars til they die then park em. And go on from there.
right before my granpa died he told me of his dads old cars off in the woods. Couple model Ts, and Model A and some old coupe. To bad theyre basically dead from cancer. You couldnt move them without killing some trees, and the cars turning to dust...
Living in the city, there are a lot of vehicles, some running, some not, that are just parked inside.
No room to leave them out in the street, plus you can only park in one spot for a short time before you get notification to move it, or be towed; at your expense.
You wouldn't believe what is around here where I live. Being some what out in the country, people just park an old vehicle and leave it. There is no way in heck they will part with them either.

I guess they believe in ownership more than seeing their vehicle(s) in the hands of another person.
Back when I was restoring cars/trucks I spent a lot of time cruising and looking for good ones. I found a few in the country, but found the best locations were in the low-rent areas of cities. Once I was cruising on my motorcycle looking in back yards when I spotted a Model A coupe. I was told that it belonged to the landlord. When I rode to his house I spotted a '27 Model T roadster, in good shape and all there, under a tree in his back yard. I bought it on the spot for $250 (He wouldn't sell the Model A). Now, whenever I am traveling, I still find myself scanning for that good one .... old habits die hard.
