The EDGE Still just doesn't produce the power that other tuners/boxes/modules put to the ground. Sure EDGE has a nice setup but in my opinion they aren't the best. I was running a 160HP QUAD Race Box and in 100 HP mode I could murder a 6.0 with EDGE on level 5 with actually a bit more mods than my truck had. Also EDGE runs on pretty high EGT's and I wouldn't recomend anyone running the EDGE on stock exhaust or even just CAT-BACK. QUADZILLA has a new Monitor coming out with basically the same features as the EDGE Attitude you can check it out here: http://quadzillapower.com also they have a new upgrade for the current XZILLARAIDER that plugs into the TPS and monitor throttle position to provide smoother shift, quicker response, and better all around driveability and performance. I am very impressed with my QUAD the trans on my 04 adapted very well after starting the adaptive learning process properly. On my 06 I have sent in my 04 Module to be upgraded for my new 06 F-250 and they are adding the TPS monitor in it also. When I get it mid-week I will report back on my findings.

I just installed mine, very nice setup, though i seem to be having a prob with the module, trans shifts much nicer,as far as higher egts,i think anyone running any type of turner, module should expect that,I'm just running in levell 1 till get the module error figured out,but so far so good(use to run the predator from day 1 never had a prob with it)

From what I hear and first hand experience from friends the EDGE in level 5 will run substantially higher EGTs than most tuners or modules........

I got the new Platninum recently. Have had it mess up twice on me. First time, it was running funny and when it turned off key the motor wouldn't stop running. Had to disconnect under the hood to reset computer. Second time, truck would not start. Same solution, had to disconnect unit under hood to reset. I'm sending it back to Edge for a new unit. Edge told me they had that happen during testing one time out of countless hours of testing. I guess I'm the lucky one to get a bad unit. Other than that it's nice to have all the gauges etc. at your finger tips. The power seems nice, but I can't smoke the tires like I read everybody else on here doing with other units. Somebody tell me if I'm doing something wrong.

I just installed the edge platinum I got from my wife (my hero) over the holidays. Things I observed on my otherwise 100% stock 03.
1. EGT's seem good (probe on rear drivers exhaust manifold) considering no exhaust or intake.(speed on flat steady state road 10 x speed so 70 mph = 700 - 750)
2. Transmission shifts are flawless with more control features than you can figure out in a week. I also have a modified Lightning and can appreciate a good tranny tune.
3. Boost seems low compared to other tuners (max I've seen is 23 psi registered on attitude monitor). I am at 3000ft elevation and test was done on flat road and empty truck. After checking other inputs online, this seems normal for the platinum. Maybe to combat the puking issue which mine has never done it's whole 40,000 miles.
4. Tire smoke is not instant but I didn't expect to light them up from a dead stop with no other mods. I thought the lag would have been helped more. It will turn them both into 2nd after 1500 rpm but not enough to cause clouds of smoke. I think the exhaust will help with the lag. Looking for any inputs...
5. Exhaust smoke seems no more than stock from what I've seen from the drivers seat.
6. User interface is flawless. I have the attitude monitor mounted in new pod above the mirror. Installation was easy (attitude monitor was more than long enough to reach above mirror). Level changes do seem to happen instantly by observing load% and egt's. When heading up a very long hill I noticed if I bumped up the program level, the load % would go lower, but the egt would rise. To me this says the engine is working easier with a higher heat output.
7. Turbo timer is a good addition also. I have mine set at 350, and it can take a minute or so to shutoff.
Overall, I am very happy. I am sure there is more power that can be added ( I see no need to contact edge for the Hot program code you can get for a 6th level) but added is another question. To me, Edge learned from their first Juice release, listened to all inputs, and made one hell of a total package performance system

KLINE925,

I did a lot of BETA testing onthe Platinum for Edge and have run every brand of product you can name on my 2003 6.0. So far the Edge Platinum is by far the smoothest and most linear as far as HP. The trans controsl are the best out there and the features like EGT defueling and turbo timer are the top of the heap. I have run the 1st, and 2nd generation Edge and the HP I get out of them and the Platinum is basically the same. There are some products that make more HP overall, but if you look at the RPM where they make that HP it's not where the typical user is going to use it, much less someone that uses the truck to tow etc. Give me a call if you want and I'll be glad to help you.

Mark, you said you've doon alot of testing on the Platiunm. Have you had any unit malfunctions or heard of any like I've had or Neverman? I'm swapping mine out for another unit and hope it was a one in a million fluke. Other than that, I love the tranny settings, power, and numerous gauges and stuff you can set and do on the cabin panel.

Tim Hartman,

No the only problem we had was one of the BETA units on my 2003, of the hundreds we have sold I can't remember one having that problem at all.

I am/was a beta tester for the Edge Platinum also. Starting was never an issue on any of the beta units. As far as the truck not shutting off sounds like it was in turbo timer mode. To stop that hit the brake and the truck will shut off. The turbo timer mode will cause three trouble codes to show but they are not a problem. One is low voltage, the other lost communications with the cluster and I can't remember what the other was. The times can either be set on a time or temp basis. Mine is set at 400 degrees and that is when the truck will shut off - unless I hit the brake.

The truck was always flawless with the Edge.

As far as excessive EGT's welll I can't speak to other units. My safety defueling temp is set at 1250. While pulling a 6500 pound boat down the interstate at 104 degrees, my speed was a constant 75+ mph my exhaust gasses never went above 1065 degrees in level one or 2 on the Edge.

Edge has been the most responsive company I have ever dealt with by far. Tech's are some of the most knowledgeable I have seen.

Edge displays their torque and horse power curves based on real rear wheel dyno runs and NOT fly wheel.

I am getting 6.7sec 0-60mph and one 5.9sec 0-60mph. What are you getting with the other units. I was told to run it in 4WD to get even better times...

I have installed the Edge Juice attitude and platinum on several truck and have yet to have anyone complain about them...
