Hello, long time no post. After parting out my SHO and getting my Mustang near perfect, I finally have time to devote to my beloved workhorse of a truck. This is the first in what's sure to be a series of posts.
The truck is an 85 F-150 with a 300 I-6 (Carter YFA feedback carb ditched for a Holley 2bbl) and complete manual drivetrain (4 speed transmission down to the hubs). My problem is that with the hubs engaged (regardless of wether 2WD or 4WD is selected) there is a regular scrape / clang sound coming from the driver's side that is most evident at low speeds. It sounds similar to a damaged brake rotor. With the hubs turned to free it disappears.
I plan to replace the hubs with the Warn Premiums, but wanted to ask if it could be anything else that's wrong. I see the Warn kit for me is number 20990; will I need the spindle nut kit also? My current hubs have allen screws around the outside and a red plastic dial in the middle.
