No auto-on headlights

No auto-on headlights
I have a 98 XLT explorer which has the auto dim headlights on the mirror. All of a sudden the automatic headlights will not come on. I can manually turn them on by using the headlight switch, but I have been unable to turn them on using the auto-on mirror switch. I can't find the correct number of the fuse on the fuse panel (looked in the manual too). Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Aha, thanks this is great info. It just so happen I was working on my XM radio which is wired into the center console the day the auto headlights stopped working. Maybe I knocked the relay lose or blew the fuse somehow. My son is in New York a couple of days with my Explorer, so I will have to wait to check it out. Thank you 87 xlt.
