170 headers

couple more questions...Does anyone know where i can get a header for my 1961 170? Also, i noticed that on the long shifter rods that run from the colum to the transmission are wearing thin (still plenty of metal) on metal plate that holds them underneath the floor. The long rods slide through two holes underneath the seat. Am i missing some bushings or something?

Special thanks to 66gpw for all the help you have been. Ordered the king pin kit today. Btw being a newbie does not allow me to send email or private messages. Try eandersonATcareered.com. Replace the AT with @. thanks.

I will try to post some pics of the 61 soon...

If these rods are showing wear it will be at the front where the rods conect to the shifters on the column. I'am I right. Mine did the same. All I did was steel rod welded it up to fill in the gouged area and then filed it down to where it should be and then used a emery cloth to smoothen it. Remember the holes for the hairpin cotter keys still need to open to remount back into the shifter levers.

For your headers, look up Cliffard research, they do alot of speed parts for inline 6's. I think they are still around.
