front end swap

hey guys i was wondering if there was any way i could swith my 4x2 into a 4x4 thanks for any input

oh i got a 1984 ford f150 with a 302 4 spd

One of the members here did the same thing you're thinking of doing. If you find Lee Lichterman's gallery, he's got some pretty good pics of the swap. He did a really good job too so if you need any questions answered, he's the man to talk to.

I would think if you could find a complete donor truck or Bronco, your life will be a lot easier.

I agree with big hoss.....the donor truck is very helpful as there can be so many things that you end up needing, but don't think of when you start.

You can do just as much with that 2x4 as with a 4x4, there's plenty of 2wd lift kits and even long travel suspension kits for your rig. unless you're going fer the mud then the 4x4 might be a good thing.

but offroading he's gonna need 4 wheel drive, unless his offroading is desert racing which I doubt it is.....theres a lot more to offroading than jsut a lift......it just matters what it takes to keep moving

one thing ive notice i put 4 200lb sutcase tractor wiegts in the bask right above the axels and it does great in soft stuff but it wont climb like my old nissan

oh and i got a donor truck today im upgrading tho to a 5spd wich sould keep my motor from blowin up on the interstate

We'll you kinda get my point not saying just the lift, but that theres alot of equipment for the 2x4s that'll aid in off roading.
