Hello, new to the post. Wondering if there are any threads on how to make the stock fogs come on w/ park lights only on? Couldn't find anything on the search of threads..... Is this an archived subject, or will it work at all? By the way, it is a 2001 350 SD ext cab sb. Thanx, b-rine
My headlight switch won't pull out unless I have the switch turned to the headlights position. In other words, it won't pull out in the park (running) lights position.
Sorry. Mine are 2004 and 2006 models. They are the way I described. I wonder if you could replace it with another switch from another vehicle? My 1997 Expedition will do this also.
My 03 F250 is the same as you described. My neighbor just bought an 04 F350 and he can turn on fogs in parking light position, so it might just be the switch. Be sure to post your results if you try a new switch.
Thanx, kevcbm. You reckon we could change our switches out to make it work? I may go down to the dealer and give him a shout and sees what gives. Anybody else got some answers?
no this mod only takes care of the parking light prob. there is another post somewhere to add a relay or something to keep them on with highbeams. When you split the switch use a sodder iron to melt the plastic tabs (BECAREFUL NOT TO MELT THEM ALL THE WAY OFF). Take your time go slow. THat way you can melt them back upon reasembly. I put a little superglue on the back of face to give a liitle more assurance. The only problem i have is the **** keeps breaking. but i think that is anther problem not the mod fault.
Depending on how you shave the plastic ring determines when you can turn the foglights on. i cut it so you can have them on with park lights/foglights and park/headlights/foglights
