I am looking for a good toolbox with a low profile lid and locks that are not toys. I have a shortbed. I would like to be able to carry about 200+ lbs of tools in it. The one that look the best so far is a trailboss, but I have been advised that the aluminum boxes dont hold up well compared to steel, also the locks look pretty hokey. Any suggestions?
DeeZee makes a platium series thats the cats @ss. No leaks and very hard to break into. I have one thats the black diamond plate but don't know if they make a low profile one .
Take a look at Highway Products (http://www.800toolbox.com/products/products.htm)... they have a lot of high quality boxes. A little on the pricey side, but research as well as customer responses indicate they're worth it.
Do any of you guys know where i could get a tool box that would fit in the back of a bronco thats only like 4-5 inches high that would slide out the side (tailgate side) instead of open from the top ... space is real limited in the back of broncos and i hate having a bulky tool box taking up all the space

I bought one, cost a lot no doubt but I think its worth it. Pefect fit between the rails and flush to the top. It wasnt to bad to bolt it in either, just put in where i wanted and drilled through the chest and bed and bolted it down and siliconed so it was water tight.
Check out WeatherGuard boxes. I've had a white Model 665-5 steel box in my work truck for about 12 years and still works great. Paint is starting to peel in a few spots but not bad for being outside for all this time. Door,Lock, and seal still work like new. Awsome quality.
I just ordered a new one in BLACK Model 665-5 for the new F-350. $419+tax
